Aloha

The reason that I decided to call this page Aloha is the true meaning is Love and that’s what I’m trying to promote here is LOVE. So here is a bit of what Aloha is and what it means. If you pimple poppers make it through this, just below is my take on what it is to be a good person. I hope you take a minute to read it.

Aloha (/ɑːˈloʊhɑː/; Hawaiian: [əˈlōˌhä]) is the Hawaiian word for love, affection, peace, compassion and mercy, that is commonly used as a simple greeting but has a deeper cultural and spiritual significance to native Hawaiians.

A greeting of love and compassion; also means “to be in the presence of the divinity” or in the presence of (alo) the “divine breath of life” (Ha).

The Aloha Spirit law became official in 1986.

Now here is my take on what it means to be a good person

There are seven fundamental ideas I would like to promote

* One should strive to act with compassion and empathy towards all creatures in accordance with reason.

* The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

* One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.

* The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo your own.

* Beliefs should conform to our best scientific understanding of the world. We should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit our beliefs.

* People are fallible. If we make a mistake, we should do our best to rectify it and resolve any harm that may have been caused.

* Every one of these is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word
